In the begining shots the small area being formed in the middle is the mezzanine level wich will hold a portion of the mechanical equipment for the building rather than locate it on the roof for a better visual appearence. The 2nd section of the first floor deck is formed around it and after that is poured the decking for the 2nd floor starts going in around the mezzanine level which is finally poured and decked over. All of this work needs to be completed before the walls can be set for the stairwell and elevator shaft walls because the floor ties into these walls, we cannot pour the deck until everything else has been placed correctly.
