Construction Photos January 2011 (Phase I)

  1. In the first couple of pictures the elevator walls have just been poured, blankets are put over the top to keep the heat in and help the concrete to cure more evenly. Just below the elevator in the middle of the screen in a concrete rectangle. This is where all of the drains from the building meet and is filtered in a catch basin to be sent out into the sewer system. All the plumbing work that goes to this needs to be done before more concrete is poured, once this is done and the vault is closed up we are ready to pour concrete over everything. On this building we are pouring 2 slabs with the top one being waterproof and you can see in the 1st picture the arm of the concrete pump truck. The truck is very large and has outriggers that lift it off the ground and allow it to reach up to 63 meters. The building area is so large this is the way concrete has to be placed.
