Construction Photos December 2010 (Phase I)

  1. One of the most important features in the building is the elevator. The elevator sits on a large concrete cap that forms the base of the elevator. Once the area for the large concrete cap is dug out 64 pilings will go down 150 ft. to support the weight of this masive structure. Then the plywood form work and rebar will will be installed, after it is all inspected the entire cap will be filled with concrete. Additional rebar will be sticking up through the top of the cap that will connect with more rebar to help form up the walls. The wall forms have to hold up a tremendous amount of weight so there is a lot of bracing that needs to be placed. After another round of inspections it is ready to be poured, this process will be repeated on each floor until the roof of the building.
