The perimeter pilings were installed first and after those were complete the dirt crew came in and first removed old log pilings from various places on the site. Once this was completed they could finish digging and setting their grade for the site. You can see there is a layer of rock being put down in the center of the site, this is for the large mobile crane that will come in and finish the interior pilings, the dirt alone will not support the massive weight of the crane so several feet of rock bedding is needed.
