In this initial stage of the project the large crane on site will be driving piles that will support the weight of the building above. It has to move all over the site, there is a particular order that the pilings have to be installed so that work can continue after they are gone. The crane is so large that they need most of the job to function. Dirt needs to constantly moved around filling holes and creating new ones. Once a group of pilings are completed they will become a cap that will have a column sitting on top. the pilings are connected with rebar and the group is covered with concrete and that will form the base of the column.
